Wandering Around the Shop

I have to admit that I am in a wonderful part of the world to find interesting things to photograph.  I tried taking a photo of a tiny weed but it was to fuzzy.  I will take my magnifying lens to work tomorrow and try again.  I have made a promise to myself that I will not buy any expensive lenses until I have conquered the one that I have.  The little screw on lens don't count because they were not that expensive.  

Harts-Basin Birds

I have asked myself what the reason is for my taking pictures.  I know that there are so many good photographers out there and I am such a rank beginner.  My goal is not so much to become a great photographer but to learn how to see beauty around me.  I have spent so much of my life in a happy little world of my own.  I want to see what is around me.  It is my hope that on my daily trip to work I will be able to see things that I have been missing. Today I noticed a pair of birds on Harts Basin.

                   I like the bemused way the girls are looking at the silliness of the boys.
                   One can tell, looking at the photo, that these children like one another.

Innocent Beauty

I have been having trouble learning how to take photos in a room without a flash.  Jocelyn was willing to pose for me with the light coming in from a door window.  The other children either smile silly or act up. A flash is necessary in order to get the action.  Jocelyn is a very intense intelligent girl.
